Your first encounter with this new world of dancing and discovering that it’s not as hard as you thought. You will be dancing with a partner right from day 1 as you learn the basics of four dance styles.
You will find muscles you never knew existed as you move more fluidly through a variety of styles and movements. You will see how simple it is to transfer what you learn in one style to another. This week you will add Salsa & Samba!
You will feel more comfortable and will know your fellow class mates as you go through the styles changing partners.
Wow! You have some new friends with a common interest. You can come to social nights and dance with them too. You will learn variations to build on the foundations you have latin.
Look out for your personal invitation to our Latin Mix party. Our instructors meet up with you before hand and personally escort you through the night, so you can put into practise what you’ve learnt so far.
Hopefully by now you’ve been to a social night. The horizon is full of possibilities, there is certainly more to learn, but you ARE already dancing and most definitely on your way!
You get your certificate, what a thrill, now you know what you know and what you don’t, and even better…You know where to get more!!!
- When a friend invited me along to Rio Rhythmics in West End to try the Latin Mix intro class one Saturday night, I thought I’d give it a try. I had no idea that night would be the turning point to a wonderful new life full of dance & lovely friendships. I’ve dropped 20kgs in weight & feel fit, alive & so happy.Andrea Young

- Nowadays I don't know what I would do if i couldn't go out social dancing. The thing is that Latin dance isn't only about connecting with a partner to the music, it is a social scene, a network of friends, a meeting place for young and old. I go out most weekends dancing, I don't drink much alcohol, I meet lots of new and interesting people, I stay fit, and my confidence in all sections of my life has gained a boost.Stewart Shuker
We have developed our curriculum over 20 years, teaching “gringos” how to dance. From the beginning we introduce the idea of musicality, cultural intent of the styles, leading and following skill, technique and how to hold your frame (posture).
For those wishing to jump straight in and learn more you can also attend our other Starter Courses in Tango, Cuban Salsa and ladies Samba no Pé in conjunction with Latin Starter.
If you already know some basic steps, you may prefer to start at one of the higher level continuing courses. Contact us today to make an enquiry.
Do I need a partner? No you don’t, you will meet lots of new friends at your class and change partners frequently.
What if I need to miss a class? No problem, just let us know prior to your class and we can schedule a Make-Up class for you within the current Term.
What should I wear? Something you can move easily in. Classes are casual and you do not need to wear specific clothing. For shoes, we recommend leather or hard rubber sole, something you already have to start with. Just make sure they are not sling back so that they are secure on your feet. Heels are not necessary, however if you prefer them they are fine.
Do I need to have any dance experience to join? Not at all! Our Latin Starter Course is for complete newcomers to dance.
Dance is for everyone.
No partner or experience required.
